THIS IS HANDY LIST TO HELP OUT ANSWERING SOME QUESTIONS WE GET ASKED OFTEN.

Our FAQ answers some common questions surrounding Digital Marketing.  We’ve broken the questions down into their relevant sections and taken a broad cross section of some of the questions we get asked by our customers.

WEB DESIGN

We continuously have customers coming to us asking this question. Sometimes we can help fix it, however sometimes we may suggest starting from scratch. If you have good foundations, cross your fingers, it may just need a face-lift to bring it up to date.

Keeping your website hosted locally in New Zealand is key to making sure your site is fast and responsive. If most of your intended audience is overseas however, we may suggest alternatively hosting on international servers.

Google Analytics is your best friend here and it’s a case of making an account and inserting a little code into your website.

MOBILE APPS

The answer is, “It Depends”. Many businesses do and we predict in the next five years Mobile Apps will be as common place as websites are today. There are different use cases for Mobile Apps and Mobile Technology so it’s we have to look at each situation on a case by case basis.

Marketing your business is not about using one marketing channel but bringing multiple channels together to achieve your goals. If you have a use case for a Mobile App you more than likely have one for a Website also.

As soon as you give us the go ahead you could possibly have your Android App live within a week. Publishing to Apple takes a little longer but we give an estimate of around four weeks. This gives us a week to finalise the design concept with our customers and then three weeks to build and publish their Mobile App.

Absolutely not. We know it seems cheap but we’ve managed to streamline our systems and processes to deliver our customers quality Mobile Applications at affordable prices.

You can publish to only one platform if you wish. The most cost effective way to market to more customers is by deciding to use two platforms but it is totally up to you.

Your Mobile App is backed up so should you mistakenly break your app, we have means to restore it to its former glory for you.

Once your app is published we give you access to a web portal where you can make changes to your app from the internet. There’s a full Content Management System (CMS) and it lets our customers update their content themselves. Some of our customers like this, others prefer we make all the content changes for them.

Yes, however… We urge you to talk to us first before engaging with your customer base. It is very important not to irritate your customers and damage your brand.

SEARCH ENGINE OPTIMISATION (SEO)

The short answer to this question is no. You should be wary of any agency that can claim they can do this. SEO is a mid to long term strategy and the way search engines rank your website change with time. We carry out SEO campaigns for clients and have hit many first page rankings. You can’t just throw money at SEO and get an instant rank, it is something you must nurture and work on over time.

There are what we call ‘black hat’ ways to artificially inflate your ranking. If Google catches you though it will most likely black list your website from its index for life. At CAMO we only employ ‘white hat’ Search Engine Optimisation techniques.

Time and patience would be the first words which come to mind. Coupled with that you also need the right strategy and perseverance. The rules surrounding Search Engine Optimisation change on a regular basis so it pays to keep up to date or make sure someone else is keeping up to date for you. But the basics are dynamic & engaging content is king, get your site linked to from lots of other sites and carry out proper key word research which is correctly placed throughout your site.

PPC means you only pay when people click on your ad, a fantastic way to dip your toes in the water. These days even Social Media sites like Facebook offer PPC advertising.

If it’s legal, then you most likely can.

Like any ad campaign if you do it right Google Ad Words is a great way to market your business on the internet. There are many effective marketing channels available in the market, and for many businesses advertising Google Ad Words is a profitable option.
